Magdalene earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a Family Nurse Practitioner concentration from Walden University in 2024, completing over 600 clinical hours in primary care, pediatrics, women’s health, and advanced nursing practice. Her DNP project focused on educating nurses on differentiating pressure injuries from arterial, venous, and diabetic wounds—a reflection of her deep commitment to wound care excellence. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University, one of the nation’s premier nursing programs.

She is additionally a graduate of the Rupert B. Turnbull, Jr., MD, School of Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing at Cleveland Clinic, completing her WOC Nursing education through clinical rotations at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Hospital and the VCU Ambulatory Clinic.

Clinical Expertise

Magdalene specializes in wound care management, vascular conditions, and joint pain, along with the full scope of family practice including chronic disease management, preventive care, and health promotion. As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and Certified Wound, Ostomy & Continence Nurse (CWOCN), she brings dual expertise that is both broad and deeply specialized.

Her professional experience includes roles at Kaiser Permanente Medical Clinic, the Central Virginia VA Healthcare System, and Vibra of Richmond, where she provided consultation and direct care to patients with complex wound, ostomy, fistula, and continence needs. She is also skilled in veteran-centered care and has extensive experience managing patients with spinal cord injuries and disorders.

Philosophy of Care

Magdalene’s approach to care is grounded in a belief that every patient deserves to be seen as a whole person. She builds respectful, individualized partnerships with her patients, crafting care plans that reflect each person’s unique values, needs, and goals. Through compassionate and evidence-based practice, she fosters open communication that empowers patients to take an active role in their own wellness.

She wants every patient who walks through her door to leave feeling valued, safe, empowered, and confident—with the clarity and reassurance they need to move forward in their health journey.

Beyond the Clinic

Outside of her clinical work, Magdalene enjoys cooking and traveling. She speaks Ejagham in addition to English and brings a rich cultural perspective to the care she provides.
