Vascular Access Center at Heart Vascular and Leg

If you are a hemodialysis patient, you need a vascular access. This is an access point through which to withdraw blood so it may pass through an external dialyzer, and then return to your body.

Vascular access is vital to your hemodialysis.

That is exactly what we do here at the Vascular Access Center – provide safe, effective vascular access for patients in need of hemodialysis. If you are a patient or referring physician, you can reach us at:

5020 Commerce Drive

The care that Dr. Shawn Isaeff and our staff provide is a standout in the industry. Our mission is simple: to provide exceptional, timely, and highly responsive care in a comfortable, patient-centered environment.

  1. Accessibility & reliability – We offer same- or next-day appointments, and we are committed to providing timely and dedicated service. We are here when you need us.
  1. Satisfaction guarantee – Patient satisfaction is guaranteed. We want to make your experience as positive as possible, and do everything in our power to make you feel welcomed.
  1. Fistulas preferred – Unless your referring doctor requests otherwise, we support using a fistula over a catheter for vascular access. Catheters contribute to more infections than any other form of vascular access. Fistulas, on the other hand, provide an excellent blood flow for dialysis, last longer than catheters, and are less prone to infection.
  1. Reduced infection rates – We partner with neighboring facilities to carefully coordinate a patient’s access care. Because of our collaborative effort, our fistula-first policy, and our proactive approach to diagnostics, intervention, and follow-ups, our patients have a low rate of infection.

Vascular Access in an Outpatient Setting: Save Time and Money

How can I contact The Vascular Access Center?

The first thing you will notice about our facilities is the welcoming atmosphere. Our patients routinely comment how much they appreciated the comfortable, relaxed, and safe setting. From the moment you walk up to the front desk, each staff member you speak to goes to great lengths to make sure you feel comfortable and cared for.

Our vascular access procedures are pain-free, and the process is simple and straightforward. Here’s what you can expect:

  1. Check in at the desk.
  2. The nurse will take you into a private room to perform an evaluation in a relaxed, one-on-one setting. The nurse will stay with you for the duration of your appointment.
  3. The doctor then checks the site and performs an ultrasound on the access.
  4. The doctor will explain the procedure, answer any questions you may have, and then perform the procedure.
  5. You will then have an opportunity to recover in a comfortable setting. Most patients generally relax for about an hour before being discharged.
  6. The nurse will discharge you and provide you with discharge instructions.

What can I expect when I come in for an appointment?

Dr. Shawn Isaeff is a Vascular and Interventional Radiologist who has been board-certified for over 15 years. He specializes in vascular access.

Unlike surgeons and hospital-based interventional radiologists who perform their work in an OR, we perform vascular access procedures in an outpatient setting, allowing you to avoid hospital charges and other fees.

We also believe the outpatient environment is more inviting and relaxing for our patients, not to mention a big time-saver.

Our services include:

  • Clotted access
  • IVC filter and removal
  • Carotid angiogram
  • Peripheral angiogram
  • Stent placement
  • Angioplasty/atherectomy
